Hello!

I’m Joseph Mok, a videographer and web designer from Hong Kong.

I started making videos and web pages back in the early 2000s. Those were the days of iMovie and using frames and tables. Since then, I’ve dug deeper into the world of producing moving images and coding for the web, applying my skills on personal projects as well as offering them for freelance projects.

Although most of my technical skills are self taught, I learned invaluable theories and non-technical skills during the 4 years I’ve studied at the University of Toronto. There, I received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Digital Enterprise Management as well as a Digital Communications Certificate from Sheridan College Institute of Technology.

To most people, videography and web design may seem like two wildly disparate fields to pursue. The former relies on moving images and sound to convey meaning while the later uses code and design to deliver intuitive user experiences. But I find that both fields share one thing in common, that is the ability to use tools as formulaic as apertures and HTML to create something as abstract as beauty and intuitiveness. Videography and web design allows me to give logic to aesthetics.

But enough with me talking about me. Go take a look at some of my past projects, and if you think I can help you on the next crazy idea, send me an email and we’ll talk about it over lunch or something.
